Whenever I image the cold bursts of November, I think of a warm corner to cozy up to in the style of the Bloomsbury Group of London — a “room of one’s own” — a place to hide away and dream. The Bloomsbury Group was a group of artists who rejected their post-Victorian world. Attitudes, aesthetics and color choices were all directly poised against the regimented order of the day. The avant-garde embrace of Bohemian laissez-fair and brightly colored palettes were often thought eccentric. However, today, we owe our ability to juxtapose great art against a comfortable sofa to this adventurous circle of thinkers.
